Famotidine, or commonly known as Pepcid, is a medication commonly used to treat and prevent various conditions related to excess stomach acid. It belongs to a class of drugs known as H2 (histamine-2) blockers, which work by reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach. It is commonly used to treat symptoms related to heartburn, indigestion, and GERD.
